Engenho de Vertente is a very small farm in Sitio Riberao, in the eastern rural area of the Sao Paulo state.
The sugar-cane is harvested by hand from the companys property. Fermentation takes place only with natural yeasts and without the use of any synthetic chemical. The distillation takes place in copper alembics with a capacity of only 10.000 liters.
Both labels produced are aged at least 24 months in oak.
This cacha ages for a further two years, both in oak and in a local wood called jequitibrosa, which is a very particular tree where the small tasty fruit grow on the trunk and not on the branches.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
