Jensen’s Old Tom Gin is sweeter, more aromatic, and with greater character than classic London Gin and the majority of modern gins. It lends itself well in all the classic cocktail recipes, which need a stronger and more dry taste.
It was created after a argument between two big Gin lovers, Christian Jensen, a Danish expatriate, and a Japanese bartender. Jensen’s Bermondsdey Gin is the reproduction of an old style gin, based on a 1840’s recipe.
Jensen’s Old Tom Gin is the second creation of this brand and the result of the desire to further go back in the history of gin, producing a gin richer, sweeter, sugared flavored than the ones known in our times.
Christian Jensen, during his research, found out that the addition of sugar to Old Tom Gin wasn’t a choice because of the high cost of the ingredient at that time.
Therefore, sweetness of Old Tom Gin was due only because it contains botanicals (herbs and roots) which were much higher than normal.
