Distiller: Casa Tarasco
The weather conditions of the Michoacan state in Mexico have allowed a great production of sugar cane over the centuries. From the fermentation and distillation of this tropical plant and its derivatives, such as roan and piloncillo, one of the traditional drinks of Mexico is born: the Charanda.
El Tarasco is a blend of Rums aged between 18 and 24 months in American and ex-Sherry ex-Whisky barrels. The distillation, instead, takes place mainly in a pot still with a small percentage in column still.
The Tarasco Gran Reserva Charanda is extremely soft, with sweet notes of vanilla and liquorice, while the aftertaste is pleasantly spicy.
