Distiller: Flor De Caña
Established in 1890, the Flor de Ca distillery produces a rum from sugar-canes harvested in the west of Nicaragua.
Aging according to the Solera method, the so called slow aged, is carried out in ex-Bourbon barrels in the fields. Very greasy, even inebriating, this version which is now mature, is at the same time radiant with freshness. The first impression in the mouth represents its perfect image.
Nose: oily, fine. The first nose is marked by pipe tobacco, gingerbread, fresh fruit (peach, apricot, orange) and rose petals. It becomes more and more spicy (cardamom, cinnamon) and more and more exotic (mango, banana). It evolves then towards a more balsamic tone (grains of mustard).
Mouth: oily, silky. Of an incredible delicacy, its touch is still light. The fragrance of white peaches and apricots are covered with a layer of chocolate and praline and crossed by linden honey as well. Gourmand, it evokes a rum bab The third fragrance (moss, lichen), preserves intact the fruity influence intervening after the debut on the smell and taste palette.
Aftertaste: silky, with a hint of notes of tobacco and inebriating flowers (carnation). His touch is always so delicate though a little drier. Licorice and cinnamon gradually wrap the taste buds. The retro scent is a mixture of fruits, dried flowers, coriander and oak. The empty glass is syrupy, floral (hyacinth, peony) and milky.
