The Last Consignment is the last rum which was supposed to be distributed to the British Royal Navy sailors when, on July 31st of 1970, the decree ceased and they werent allowed to drink rum on boat. The day is remembered as the Black Tot Day. The rum allocated for the Royal Navy was defined as Black Navy and it has always been a blend coming from various British colonies, generally Guyana, Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad.
A full-bodied rum, young and usually with the addition of caramel in line with the tradition to make it very dark, almost black.
