Before Bill Lark built his distillery, it had been 153 years since the town of Hobart, Tasmania, had one. Peat fields, a great purity water, everything here is joined to create a special whisky.
Cask No LD38 – American oak Quarter Cask – Limited Edition 122 bottles.
• Color: aged gold with copper shades.
• Fragrance: live and vivid. It reminds you of an American Rye Whisky. Then notes of loukom (Turkish delight) of withered rose brings us to the East. Star anise and cloves help to keep this warm and intoxicating sensation. It turns on Mirabelle, malted barley and wooden and salty notes.
• Taste: like the fragrance sensations, spicy, green, hot, vanilla and salty. More western and marked by liquorice and green pepper. It becomes oily (coconut milk, cream). It remains fluctuating between the United States and Scotland. Durmast, eucalyptus and salty caramel are together with malted barley and lavender honey.
• Aftertaste: long, very spicy (red berries, black pepper). It turns its back to old Europe and looks at the new World. With ventilation, malted barley takes its road rimmed with wild blackberries. It ends on vanilla ice cream and pecan
