Type: Irish Whiskey
Midleton is the synonym brand for pot still and blended Irish whiskies, with a very limited range of cuvée. It recently added to its products a 100% pot still whisky, under the name of Barry Crocket, Master Distiller. Midleton style is recognizable for elegant and very scented spirits and for the exclusive use of American bourbon casks for the aging process. With the creation of an appellation dediée this Midleton cuvée became a Single Pot Still (all of the actual pot stills are just from one distillery; so it was decided to emphasize this matter, like Scottish distilleries are doing with their single malt and grains).
• Fragrance: elegant notes of vanilla and toasted durmast, followed by lime, green cherry, pear and sweet pepper.
• Taste: lemons follows the pepper, lime and very sweet notes of tangerine. A touch of cinnamon, with the vanilla and durmast flavors, reminds one of the years spent in the American durmast barrels.
• Aftertaste long and complex, with American durmast taste predominant.
