This single malt aged in bourbon barrels was refined in barrels that had previously contained a rum produced in the region of Sancti Espiritu. Refinements are very fashionable in the times they are running. If some of them are questionable, this Gran Reserva version is anything but a boast. An official version available in limited series. Aged in ex-Rum barrels, this gold-colored single malt with topaz reflections has a nose marked by exotic fruits. It evolves on violet, tobacco, vanilla and sugar cane. The fresh and fragrant mouth, evoking banana and ripe fruit (pear), develops gently on malted barley. The finish reveals notes of cocoa beans and slightly bitter chocolate.
• Color: old gold with amber reflections.
• Nose: broad, soft. A corbeille of exotic fruits (mango, guava, banana) enriched with vanilla and spices (ginger, nutmeg). It evolves on pipe tobacco and flowers (violet).
• Mouth: lively and unctuous, it is clearly influenced by the refinement in the rum barrel with its notes of sugar cane and spices.
• Final: long, rich, it has an autumnal character (undergrowth, dry leaves, champignons) and extends over the cocoa bean and slightly bitter chocolate.
