In 1824 John Cummin founded the Cardhu distillery (from the Gaelic Cardow, i.e. black stone) in the heart of Speyside, near the town of Knockando.
Using spring water from the Mannoch hills and the barley personally grown, the distillery created a single malt aromatic and full, which offers a perfect expression of Speyside terroir.
