Dalwhinnie

Scotland - Highland

The Dalwhinnie distillery is based in the Highlands region, just one kilometer from the Cairngorms and therefore one of the northernmost Scottish distilleries. In 1994 this remote place was officially registered as the coldest inhabited place in the whole Great Britain. The distillery uses the water of Lochan and Doire Uaine (meaning Green Wood Lake, in Gaelic), which is located 600 meters above the sea level on the Drumochter hills.
