The project, launched in 2017, was born out of the partnership between LVMH, a world leader in the luxury and quality industry, and the Gallardo family, tequila producers in Mexico for centuries, with the specific aim of creating an exceptional tequila, in a perennial balance between tradition and modernity.
Volcán de mi Tierra tequila has great complexity, due to the blend of agave from two profoundly different regions of Jalisco, the highlands and lowlands, enhancing the uniqueness of the two terroirs.

Blanco Tahona draws its inspiration from the silky white smoke that covers a volcano after an eruption, and is produced in its own distillery in a strictly traditional manner: the hearts of agaves - the piñas - are cooked in hornos de mamposteria for 36 hours before being pressed with a historic two-tonne heavy volcanic stone wheel - the tahona - to extract the sugars before fermentation with natural yeasts.

To understand whether the tequila you are drinking is authentic, you have to look for the NOM number on the bottle label: there are thousands of tequila brands, but only 134 distilleries, which means that many brands come from the same hacienda. Volcán de mi Tierra - NOM 1523 - belongs to that 16% of brands that can boast of being produced in a single exclusive and dedicated distillery.

Volcán de mi Tierra tequila is made by distilling blue agave, the most prized variety. After the leaves are cut off, the juiciest inner part - the piña - is cooked slowly to prepare the sugars for fermentation. The mixture is crushed to extract an agave juice, which is then left to ferment to obtain a must with a low alcohol content: this is the basis of the final product, which is then distilled.
The Volcán de mi Tierra Distillery is located on the slopes of the Tequila volcano after which it is named. Not only agave blends, but also process: Volcán de mi Tierra is produced by alternating centuries-old traditional techniques and modern processes in an incredible balance of characters and aromas.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
