The Cargo Cult range is produced by independent bottler The Small Batch Spirits Company, thanks to the drive of Steve Magarry, former Distillery Manager of Beenleigh. Based in Sydney, the focus is on premium brands from Australia, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.

The name Cargo Cult derives from a widespread belief in the islands of the South Pacific, which arose when American troops landed there during World War II, bringing with them a seemingly inexhaustible amount of goods they had never seen: chocolate, medicine, chewing gum, jeeps, cigarettes. In the eyes of the people living on the islands, who had never had much contact with the outside world, this event took on an aura of a miracle; thus, when the troops left, there was a desire among the islanders to see another cargo ship loaded with goods return. The wish was expressed in a series of prayers to various deities for the magical cargo ship to return: legend has it that on some of the more remote islands this cult is still active;
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
