The basic idea behind Votanikon gin is to create an entirely Greek flavour, which is why the research started from the Hellenic soil, so rich in typically Mediterranean aromas and scents. The result is a complete journey through twenty different botanicals, each expressing its own precise character, as is only right in a country like Greece, which with its mountains and sunny islands possesses one of the greatest diversity of flora in the world.
Botanicals present include Greek tea, called shepherd's tea, from the mythical Mount Olympus; basil and dictam from the island of Crete; citrus and chamomile from the Peloponnese; oregano from the Mani peninsula; sage from Amorgos; Greek saffron Krokos Kozani PDO and then two particular protagonists: the fundamental juniper, from the mountains of Macedonia, and mastic from the island of Chios. The latter has been cultivated for at least 2500 years in Greece, and is a plant resin obtained from the mastic tree. Also known as the 'tear of Chios', it is rich in antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and is characterised by a taste that is bitter at first, and then releases refreshing hints of pine and cedar.
Votanikon is a handcrafted, premium quality dry gin. Attention to detail can already be seen in the bottle, which features an elegant design, with embossed indications of the various botanicals used in its production. Juniper is immediately apparent on the nose, followed by notes of mastic, Greek tea and chamomile; the flavor is round and complex, rich with citrus.
Votanikon is an excellent base for creating cocktails with a Mediterranean aroma, and it is perfect for making Gin & Tonic: three Greek olives stuck in a long toothpick are a must as garnish.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
