Brazil is a great country, with immense resources and rich in ancient traditions. This heritage also includes Cachaça, a national spirit made from sugar cane juice. Yaguara was founded in 2013 on the family farm in Paranà and here the famous Master Blender Erwin Weimann works combining traditional craftsmanship with a modern, avant-garde vision.

With its mix of tradition and modernity, Yaguara Organic has made cachaça history, thanks to its versatility for use in cocktails and its very high quality. Yaguara owes its success to the recipe created by the Meneghel family, which has been handed down for five generations, and to careful production at every stage, from hand-cutting the sugar cane, to resting it for 10 months and ageing it for 5 to 6 years in European oak barrels. Yaguara Organic is organic, 100% sustainably produced and bottled, and its packaging reflects its environmental awareness, with a higher percentage of recycled glass in each bottle.
Yaguara Still Strength is a limited edition, from the 2021 harvest, and expresses the most authentic character of Yaguara. It is a cachaça in its purest version, a full degree coming out of the 700-litre copper Pot Still, obtained from a single distillation. Perfect to drink straight, for those who love the unmistakable taste of sugar cane, and perfect in blends thanks to its aromaticity and strength. For a 100% Brazilian Capirinha.
Yaguara is produced from organic sugar cane of the Java variety. Fermentation is enriched by the addition of certain yeast strains present on the cane, which are proliferated in the laboratory in order to enhance the specific terroir and avoid contamination.
Distillation takes place in a 750-litre copper still powered by steam. Afterwards, the Cachaça remains at least eight months in stainless steel tanks and is then gradually diluted to 41% with water from the artesian well 300 metres below ground. The subsequent filtration is done in a triple process: carbon, cellulose and sub-zero. Finally, barrels of the precious Brazilian woods cabreuva and amburana are used for the Cachaçe intended for ageing, as well as the traditional American oak.
Strange but true, the Caipirinha has no history behind it, it is simply considered Brazil's national cocktail. The only indications are those of the name, Caipirinha in fact being the diminutive of caipira, meaning peasant girl. A Brazilian saying goes 'a pior cachaça faz a melhor caipirinha', i.e. 'the worst cachaça makes the best caipirinha', meaning a cheap Cachaça and therefore the one most used by ordinary people.
INGREDIENTS
½ Lime* cut into small pieces
2 teaspoons brown sugar
6cl Cachaça
Mash the lime with the sugar to extract the juice and essential oils. Fill the glass with coarsely crushed ice, add the Cachaça and mix.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
