Black Tot

Caraibi

The Last Consignment is the last rum that was to be distributed to the sailors of the British Royal Navy when, on 31 July 1970, the edict that for centuries gave the right to drink rum daily on board ceased. The day was remembered as the Black Tot Day. Since the end of the 1600s the sailors had the right and the duty to consume a ration of rum: this was initially a pint per day, and the aim was to be more fearless, against the pirates who certainly were not outdone!
