Originally from Atotonilco el Alto in Jalisco, Mexico, Casa Siete Leguas is over 50 years old and produces tequila according to traditional methods. The procedure begins with the harvest of the agave, which consists in removing the leaves once the fruit has reached maturity, preserving only the pine cones, the heart of the plant.

The pine cones are then steamed, in stone ovens, by the fogoneros (stokers) and then brought to the Tahona, a traditional stone mill driven by mules, where the fired pine cones are ground to extract the juice.
Once extracted, the juice is transferred to large vats where it will remain until the end of fermentation. The fermented juice passes to the distillation process that takes place exclusively in copper stills, in the two distilleries "El Centenario" and "La Vencedora".
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
