Chile is one of the most active countries in the production and marketing of Pisco, so it is commonly believed that it originally comes from this country. Actually, Pisco has its origin in Peru where it is still produced according to traditional methods following very strict protocols that foresee, among the fundamental points: natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts of grape must, distillation in copper stills and bottling at full grade.
The Tabernero winery was founded in 1897 by the Taboada family in the Chincha valley, 200 km south of Lima.
First of all an expert in distillates and owner of over 250 hectares of vineyards, it is natural that Tabernero also turned to the development of the Pisco, which in recent years has seen an exponential growth of its world consumption. Tabernero, in fact, represents one of the leaders of the Peruvian wine industry, exporting its products all over the world.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
