Vago Mezcals were born when a man, Judah Emanuel Kuper, decided to totally change his life after a trip to Oaxaca. During a local party, he drank a liquid with a smoky and at the same time sweet taste that conquered him to the point of deciding to stay and open a bar on the beach.

Soon he married the daughter of mezcal producers, and with her he founded the Vago distillery, with the intention of exporting this precious distillate outside Mexico.
Each mezcal Vago is unique and the exact expression of the territory and the producer.
Master Aquilino Garcia Lopez produces the types Espadin, Elote, Mexicano and Blanco y Negro, in the hills around the village of Candeleria Yegole at an altitude of 1100 meters. There, in the middle of a dry region between two rivers in southern Oaxaca, his family cultivates the raw material.
For the Tobalà and Ensemble mezcal, on the other hand, the cultivation area is in Sola de Vega and distillation is entrusted to the palenquero master Salomòn Rey Rodriguez, but you can ask for tìo Rey.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
