The basic idea from which Votanikon Gin is born is to create an entirely Greek flavor, and that is why the research started from the Hellenic territory, so rich in typically Mediterranean aromas and fragrances. The result is a complete journey through twenty different botanicals, each of which expresses its own specific character, as it should be in a country like Greece, which with its mountains and sunny islands has one of the greatest diversity of flora in the world. .

Botanicals present include Greek tea, called shepherd's tea, from the mythical Mount Olympus; basil and dictam from the island of Crete; citrus and chamomile from the Peloponnese; oregano from the Mani peninsula; sage from Amorgos; Greek saffron Krokos Kozani PDO and then two particular protagonists: the fundamental juniper, from the mountains of Macedonia, and mastic from the island of Chios. The latter has been cultivated for at least 2500 years in Greece, and is a plant resin obtained from the mastic tree. Also known as the 'tear of Chios', it is rich in antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and is characterised by a taste that is bitter at first, and then releases refreshing hints of pine and cedar.
