Indicated as one of the revelation and stakeholder distilleries of the American micro distillery movement for Ingvar Ronde's Malt Whiskey Yearbook 2017, Westland introduced a new category in American Whiskeys: the first American single malt whiskey, 100% barley malt.

With a mash tun that produces seven days a week with a capacity of 5.000lt and 10.000lt fermenters, the wash still and the spirit still work without stopping with a double batch distillation. Westland Distillery is founded in 2010 in Seattle. Here it produces, distills, ages and bottles the American Single Malt Whiskey in the heart of the Pacific Northwest with the mission of bringing a distinctly new American voice into the world of single malts. The barrels used for aging are new American oak, a former bourbon cask and sherry cask.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
