Jasper Newton "Jack" Daniel was born on September 5, 1850 in Lynchburg, Tennessee, although not everyone agrees on his true origins. Considered by many as a visionary, Jack was a marketing pioneer, immediately understanding the importance of the brand and bringing this distillery to an international reputation that has remained unchanged over time. With 74 warehouses containing 1.6 million barrels, Jack Daniel's is one of the largest distilleries in the world.
But this is certainly not what gives to this whiskey its unique and distinctive character. Unlike his cousins who produce bourbon in Kentucky, the Jack follows the Lincoln County Process, a unique procedure that consists of filtering the distillate through a layer of maple coal before being put into barrels. This allows the heavier elements of the spirit to be preserved, enhancing the overall homogeneity of the distillate.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
