Isle of Harris Gin is not just a great gin, it is also the fulfillment of a dream: to bring distillation to Harris, the largest island in the Scottish Outer Hebrides, and to support local communities in a remote place, of majestic beauty but depopulation risk.
When the stills were lit in 2015, thanks to the efforts of the Burr family, the people who were part of the project were 10, but today they are already 40, a significant number for an island inhabited by less than 2000 people.
Harris is therefore a gin that was created to bring joy around the world, which once again reaffirms the great skills in distillation that the Scots have been handed down for centuries, but at the same time has an eye for the social and the land in which is born. It is no coincidence that each bottle is bottled by hand on the spot and carries with it a seal with the coordinates to reach the Isle of Harris.

Harris is a fresh, flowing, elegant gin but at the same time sumptuous and full of complex suggestions.
For this reason it is excellent when used in a refreshing Gin & Tonic, but reaches its apotheosis in a Martini Cocktail, one of the most iconic drinks of all time.
Here is our special recipe of the Martini Solera, which combines the charm of the Isle of Harris with the centuries-old tradition of Spanish Sherry Bodegas in a glass.
8 cl Harris Gin
2 cl Valdespino Fino Sherry
1 dash Orange Bitter
Stir & strain in a martini glass. Garnish with olive or lemon zest.
Isle of Harris gin is produced entirely in the small town of Tarbert and distilled in a small copper alembic. The quality of the water is obviously essential to produce a premium gin and the distillery is lucky enough to use the source of Abhainn Cnoc a 'Charraindi from which flows a very sweet water, low in minerals, able to guarantee a characteristic softness to the gin.
The choice not to reuse the distillation waste, the heads and the tails, in the subsequent distillation is certainly a big economic effort but it makes the heart of Harris Gin a distillate of maximum purity, for a result that few producers can boast.
Attention to quality is therefore a fundamental element, and then there is the secret that comes from the sea…

There are 9 botanicals used to produce Harris Gin, some are great classics such as juniper, cassia, licorice, coriander, orange peel and angelica. The ingredients are dosed with balance, according to the “Less is more” principle, to obtain a clean and fresh gin, essential, of great elegance. But then there is a personal touch, a stroke of genius, which transforms an excellent gin into a work of art.
A team of local divers is in charge of harvesting Sugar Kelp, the saccharin seaweed, which is abundant on the Harris coasts and which is now considered a superfood thanks to its high levels of vitamin B, potassium and magnesium. Once dried, this seaweed is distilled together with the other botanicals, thus bringing an unmistakable marine scent into the bottle. Mannitol, which forms on algae during drying, is then a natural sweetener that adds softness and roundness to Harris Gin.
The Atlantic Ocean thus puts its signature indelibly and gives us a unique distillate.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
