Elephant Gin

Germany

Elephant Gin was founded by Robin and Tessa Gerlach, who were inspired by their travels to Kenya, South Africa and Tanzania to come up with a gin that was entirely African-inspired. The creation, on the other hand, is German, and the distillery is located in the small town of Wittenburg, between Berlin and Hamburg.

The aromatic components of the gin are a very special blend of 14 herbs and spices, including rare African ingredients such as baobab, buchu and African mugwort, and especially apples, a key element in the flavour profile.

Elephant is distilled in an artisanal way, with copper stills and in small batches.

Keeping in mind the need of the current generation to safeguard the environment, Elephant Gin donates 15% of its profits to projects to save the African elephant from extinction, specifically to three foundations: Big Life Foundation, Space For Elephants and Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
