Long Pond

A resident of Jamaica's Trelawny region since 1753, Long Pond is known for its funky style of rum and the historicity of its pot stills.
Because of falling sugar prices during the early 1900s, several distilleries in Jamaica were closed, leading to the creation of ever-larger areas owned by a few sugar mills, such as Long Pond and Hampden Estate.

Long Pond restarted operations only a year ago after a period of inactivity of several years. The distillery is owned by National Rums of Jamaica, which in turn has three equal owners: the Jamaican government, Demerara Distillers Limited of Guyana, and Maison Ferrand, parent company of Plantation Rum.
