This 12-year-old Saint James, here in 150 cl format, is part of the second edition of the now legendary Magnum series, born in 2021 from an idea of Luca Gargano, with the aim of bringing together the great masters of rum with the great photographers of the Magnum agency.
This aged agricultural rum was distilled in a Creole column and produced from a blend of the 2003 and 2010 vintages. The entire production process takes place at the distillery using artisanal methods in order to be covered by Martinique's Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée. Founded in 1765, Saint James is the largest and oldest distillery in Martinique.
The nose is rich and full-bodied, with hints of sugar and honey evolving into gentian, chocolate and herbal aromas. The palate is creamy and delicate, rich in medicinal notes, spices and herbs in infusion, with nuances of cocoa and candied ginger. The finish is soft and persistent, very evocative of sugar cane, with an aftertaste of almond and marmalade.
ONE BOTTLE PER CLIENT MAXIMUM
Just like the first, the second edition of the Magnum series aims to offer a range of expressions of rum, which originate from the same raw material but are totally different. If the first edition of the series was accompanied by Elliott Erwitt's iconic label images, the second pays tribute to the American photographer Alex Webb, who has been with the agency since 1979.
The Magnum Saint James 12 is therefore accompanied by a label photograph that Alex Webb took in Saint Lucia in 1988.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
