Hoy Como Ayer 1956 is a real treasure that takes us back to a time of upheaval, when Caribbean rum was already a myth.
It is a rum distilled in 1956, thus aged for 68 years in a tropical climate. To make this bottling, it was necessary to combine rums from over fifty barrels of the same age, as the Caribbean Angel's Share is around 8% per year.
The result is a very aromatic rum that takes us on a seventy-year journey, in which the slow tropical maturation gives great maturity to the distillate.
The nose is rich and deep, with tones of crème brûlée, toasted hazelnut, orange marmalade, dried apricot, mango, sultanas, wax, leather and incense paper. The palate is energetic, with notes of burnt cane sugar, cocoa, ginger, tonka beans and fig jam, and a lingering, delicately tannic finish.
Only a very few, precious bottles are available.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
