The Chartreuse Rèfectoire herbal tea is designed to aid digestion. Its main ingredients are verbena, fennel, peppermint, chamomile, wild apple, marjoram and rosemary. It forms part of a range that has its roots in the centuries-old herbal tradition of the Carthusian Order. The result of ancient botanical knowledge and a careful selection of organically grown herbs, these unique blends are designed to promote the well-being of body and mind.
Each herbal tea is formulated according to a holistic approach, inspired by the seven physiological spheres and the rhythms of monastic life. A scientific committee supports this process, combining tradition with modern scientific discoveries.
Ever since their foundation in 1084, Carthusian monasteries have preserved a precious tradition of herbalism, cultivating and processing herbs for medicinal purposes. This ancient knowledge, passed down from generation to generation, reached its peak with the creation of the ‘Elisir vegetale’ in 1737, the base for the famous Chartreuse liqueurs. Today, alongside their liqueur production, the Carthusians are reviving their herbalist tradition with a range of herbal teas.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
