The Single Malt Alpenglow 2015 Version Française comes from a famous distillery in Lorraine and was bottled by the Distillerie du Dauphiné in the Rhône-Alpes region, to be selected by La Maison du Whisky for its 65th anniversary celebration series. Aged in a cask that contained a Xères Oloroso, it was then aged in a cask that contained a Pineau de Charentes wine.
The Single Malt Alpenglow 2015 Version Française has a delicate nose, in which hints of straw, peat, liquorice, smoke, tincture of iodine, apricot, salt, walnut, caramel, chocolate, incense, honey, sultanas, camphor, fried onion, coffee mingle. Extraordinary. The palate is lively, with peat and smoke carrying notes of quince, rose petals, wild strawberry and candied fruit, evolving into honey, lavender, dark chocolate and pistachio, with a very intense malty barley aftertaste. The finish is persistent and smooth, rich in animal tones that fade into pine resin, lime honey, laurel, smoke and cigar, ending in a liqueur-like aftertaste.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
