Cadenhead, founded in 1842 by William Cadenhead, is the oldest independent whisky bottler operating today. In the 1970s it passed into the hands of W. & A. Mitchell, a family business that owns Springbank, one of Scotland's most famous distilleries, and the head office was moved to Campbeltown, where it shares with Springbank the extremely rich cellars that house thousands of casks of every Scotch whisky producer. Cadenhead's style has always been uncompromising, exclusively focused on quality and transparency: control of the quality of the woods is considered a crucial step and every bottling is uncoloured and unchillfiltered.
The '7 Stars Blend' brand was part of Cadenhead's range several decades ago to demonstrate that by carefully selecting casks it was possible to create great blended whiskies. This new version is finished in ex-Sherry Oloroso casks.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
