Ladyburn is a distillery that has become a legend due to the rarity of its whiskies. It was opened in 1966 by the Grant Group as an expansion of the Girvan grain whisky distillery in the Lowlands. Ladyburn produced malt whisky, but as early as 1976 it was closed, bottling its Single Malt very few times.
Ladyburn 42 is part of the Private Cask Collection, and is the oldest whisky ever bottled by the defunct distillery to date. This bottling is in fact the result of the selection of a few barrels filled in March 1973 and emptied after 42 long years, in April 2015.
There are only 1150 bottles.
