Beenleigh

Australia

Beenleigh is the oldest distillery in Australia, its history begins in 1865 when two Englishmen, John Davy and Francis Gooding, bought 300 acres of land facing the Albert River. Around the same time, a man named James Stewart, known as "The Bosun", ran a floating sugar refinery aboard the S.S. Walrus, a sailboat converted to a steamboat, which sailed along the Albert and Logan Rivers.
