Beenleigh 2013 is a Single Vintage Rum made from molasses wholly produced and processed in Queensland, and then fermented for 3 to 4 days.
First distilled in Single Column and then Pot Still in August and September 2013, this rum was aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon casks at the distillery in Eagleby, Queensland, then in a tropical climate.
The angel's share is >25%.
The 2013 Beenleigh rum arrives after two other interesting releases - the 2006 15 Y.O. and the 2015 5 Y.O. Desert Maturation - and confirms the great care and extreme quality always sought after by this distillery, the oldest in Australia, now active since 1884.
Attention to every aspect of ageing is also reiterated by Distillery Manager Chris Kim: "At Beenleigh, one could almost say that ageing is subtropical, as temperatures vary from a low of 5°C in winter to a high of around 36°C in summer.
We have access to freshly drained bourbon barrels from the United States, which every other distillery in the world would love to get their hands on. Thanks to the combination of higher-loss ex-bourbon casks and humid summers, we have annual losses of 6% - which makes the rum taste even better.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
