Xoriguer is a gin coming from the distillation of a high quality wine alcohol, mixed with Pyrenean juniper berries as well as other aromatic herbs, with the addition of water from the Mahòn wells. It is distilled with the traditional 'one-shot' method, ie. with a single distillation in ancient stills heated over high heat.
Thanks to its unique character and high quality raw materials, Xoriguer is totally free of additives. Aromatic and deep, it is a very intense gin and rich in notes of juniper, wood and aromatic herbs, with a citrus and black pepper finish.

The Xoriguer distillery still produces today what is in all probability the oldest gin in the Mediterranean, following a recipe that dates back to the early eighteenth century and distilling in copper stills over 250 years old.
According to legend, in 1750 a craftsman from Menorca combined the recipes of Dutch jenever and English gin, creating a completely original recipe. Then, in 1940, Miguel Pons Justo decided to reproduce the recipe in his distillery in the port of Mahon, in Menorca, where his family still continues to produce gin with the same method, jealously preserving the secrets of the original recipe.
Today, Xoriguer is a family business that produces over half a million bottles a year, and which has maintained the same commitment to preserving the artisanal methods and the original flavor, while also earning the prestigious geographical indication of 'Gin de Mahòn'

Xoriguer's distinctive green bottle has a curious history. Its 'handle' on the neck is a tribute to its origins, when liqueurs were sold in packages called 'caneco', which allowed the bottles to be carried while keeping them fresh. When beverage packaging became popular in the early 1980s, Xoriguer chose a brown glass bottle with the characteristic handle, to evoke Menorca and its history. Following the global crisis of the 1990s, which led to the closure of many glass factories, the bottle became emerald green.
The mill on the label is a tribute to the family origins of the founder Miguel Pons Justo, descendant of a lineage of millers working on an estate in the south of Menorca called Son Xoriguer.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
