Cadenhead is the oldest independent whisky bottler active today. The company was founded in 1842 by William Cadenhead, thanks to the merger of a company of rum merchants in London and one active in the spirits trade in Aberdeen, a city where the headquarters will remain for 130 years. In the 1970s Cadenhead passed to W. & A. Mitchell, an independent company that owned Springbank, one of Scotland's most famous distilleries. The headquarters is therefore moved to Campbeltown, where it shares the very rich warehouses with Springbank.

Cadenhead's genius lies in the fact that in a historical moment when whisky produced by distilleries was sold in barrels to blenders, William was the first to bottle single malt, therefore malt whisky from a single producer, about a hundred years before this becomes a must.
Cadenhead's style has always been uncompromising, exclusively oriented on quality and transparency: following the motto “cask is king”, quality control of the woods is considered a crucial phase. Each bottling is strictly non-colored and not cold filtered. Another strong point is the variety.
The warehouses host thousands of barrels from every Scottish whisky producer, but not only: alongside the historic gin Old Raj, the company has not abandoned its most ancient origins and continues to mature hundreds of barrels of rum.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
