Distiller: Pure Sardinia
Doro Aged Gin is bottled in a dark glass bottle with golden decorations which reminds you the color of the gin after aging in oak barrels.
The spirit is made by using juniper from Sardinia but also other botanicals from the Island: salvia desoleana, myrtle leaves, mastic, Artemisia, orange and lemon peels.
All the herbs are infused in cereal alcohol for a 30 day period then the gin is distilled with the same non-continuous pot, then elevated to 44% alcohol content and finally aged in old chestnut barrels for a full year.
Botanicals and aging made Doro Aged Gin a very different gin from Solo Wild Gin, even if the same strong juniper aromas and the scent from Mediterranean shrubs are present.
Here, more sage, vanilla and citrus and, like in solo Wild Gin, resin flavor are strongly present.
