Los Cuerudos was a group of armed rebels in the south of Oaxaca, so named because of the leather clothes that they were wearing. Jorge Chacoya became the first mezcal producer in the region when he was only 17 years old, and five generations after his family follows the tradition.

Mezcal produced with agave Tobalà, a smallest variety but with a better quality than agave Espadin.Los Cuerudos Tobalà is produced in small batches, because of the poor amount of Tobalà agave available. Land and citrus aromas are part of this mezcal made in Las Margaritas, where the jungle is predominant and you can almost feel the humidity in the agave plants.
