Brugal Colecciòn Visionaria is the first of a limited edition collection of rums produced using an innovative technique patented by the distillery, which consists of toasting the barrels using natural ingredients. This is an absolutely unique process: the best, carefully selected European virgin oak barrels are toasted with ingredients that give the wood its aromatic notes, which are then removed before the rum is put into the barrels.
This first edition of Brugal's Colecciòn Visionaria is dedicated to cacao and, like all those to follow, was made by fifth-generation Maestra Ronera Jassil Villanueva Quintana. The virgin European oak barrels used to age the rum were therefore toasted with cocoa beans, carefully hand-selected in the Dominican Republic and 100% locally sourced. The result, after barrel ageing, is a rich, elegant and rounded rum, with no sugar or additives. The Colleciòn Visionaria will consist of 4 releases in total, all presented in beautiful bottles wrapped in navy blue netting, a tribute to Brugal's iconic protective net, sealed by hand and signed by Maestra Ronera. Each bottle will also bear the batch number on the label.

Brugal Colecciòn Visionaria has an amber-coloured appearance and a rich nose with hints of hot chocolate, toasted oak, spices and citrus fruits perfectly balanced with delicate nuances of vanilla. Vanilla notes veined with caramel prevail on the palate, which then give way to the richness of dark chocolate, dried fruit and roasted nuts. The finish is soft and persistent.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
