Brugal 1888 was born from a double maturation carried out entirely in the Dominican Republic: first 8 years in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels, after which another 6 years in European red oak of Sherry Oloroso.
The two barrels release different ranges of aromas which give complexity and unique characteristics. Then it evolves in the glass and amazes sip after sip, making new notes emerge on the palate from its ample bouquet.
Sweet on the nose and delicate but firm on the palate, at the first approach hints of cocoa and coffee that gently leave room for vanilla and caramel. The surprise in taste at the second sip comes from a balance of red fruits and dried fruit that close with an aroma of raisins that plays with the hint of cinnamon.
Tasting Notes
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
