Rhum Rhum Liberation 2024 Integral: Pure Single Agricole Rhum

Rhum Rhum Liberation 2024 Integral is produced from the Rouge B47.259 sugarcane, an ancient variety that has almost disappeared from the Antilles. Once fully ripe, the canes are cut by hand using traditional ‘coutelas’ and transported to the distillery on ‘cabrouet’ carts pulled by bulls.

The freshly pressed juice is not diluted, as is usually the case in the production of rhum agricoles; fermentation takes place in open vats at a controlled temperature and lasts up to 5–6 days. After distillation, a long ageing period begins in steel vats, lasting up to a year.

In the Integral version, the alcohol content is not reduced, as is the case with the other Liberation rums. The rum is then aged in French oak casks that have previously held some of the finest wines from France’s greatest crus. All Liberation rums feature the year of ‘release’ from the cask on their labels.
