Knappogue Castle The Happy Prince and other tales is a 27-year-old whisky distilled in 1994. After triple distillation, this Single Malt is aged in Bourbon casks.
From the Ex Libris series, dedicated to whiskies from around the world selected by La Maison du Whisky, come the first expressions: three Irish Single Malts from 1994, 1995 and 1996 from Knappogue Castle.
The range is inspired by the literary universe, with labels reminiscent of the covers of the great classics: each bottle is named after a literary work from its country of origin, and the Knappogue Castle series pays tribute to three short stories by Oscar Wilde, one of the greatest Irish authors of all time.

Who was born first, Scotch whiskey or Irish whiskey? We will probably never know the answer, and in the end it is not even of fundamental importance.

Ireland and Scotland have always contended over the paternity of the invention of whisky, however, there are no official documents and we will not go into this centuries-old dispute, but will rely on...
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
