Glenrothes 25 Years Old represents the pinnacle of elegance and maturity in the distillery's range. After a quarter of a century of ageing in carefully selected casks, this single malt releases a unique aromatic depth, in which the fruity sweetness typical of the Glenrothes style intertwines with the richness of oak and the complexity of spices. It is a whisky that tells the story of time with the same intensity with which it guards its secrets, designed for connoisseurs and collectors seeking a rare and memorable experience.
The long ageing process takes place mainly in first-fill casks seasoned with sherry, both American and European oak. American oak imparts brightness, vanilla sweetness and toasted nuances, while European oak adds structure, spicy intensity and deep woody notes. Each cask is tasted and evaluated by the Master Whisky Maker, who selects only those that express a perfect balance between refinement and complexity. The natural, full colour is the exclusive result of this slow maturation process, without the addition of any colouring.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
