Lochlea was a cattle farm until 2006 and barley grown on agricultural land, mainly as livestock feed. In 2015, however, the Lochlea experiment started, growing 50 acres of barley malt. Since then, we have grown our own barley and the distillery team has skillfully and patiently prepared the nectar of our efforts.

The land of Lochlea is important, and not just for the unmistakable taste of our whiskey. This was the land that Robert Burns occupied when he lived on Lochlea Farm, inspiring his thinking and his development as a poet. Burns has worked hard on the same land where we have the privilege of growing our own malt barley today.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
