The 1959 Trelawny rum Private Stock Cees Van Wees is a treasure that has been kept for over sixty years in the cellar of the family business A. Van Wees, run by Fenny and his two daughters Nikki and Marlous.
It is a Jamaican rum distilled in 1959 at the Hampden distillery and comes from the personal reserve of Cees van Wees, Fenny's father. This extraordinary rum was discovered thanks to the vision and passion of the Van Wees family and, in particular, Cees, a Dutch merchant and distiller who recovered it in 1962 and decided never to part with it. For him, this rum was unique and should not be mixed with anything else or reduced in strength. It remained in the barrel for 28 years until 1988, when Cees decanted it into demijohns, where it was forgotten until 2019, when it was rediscovered by Luca Gargano.
It was bottled at full strength in 2024.
A rare, extremely limited edition of only 218 bottles, representing a bridge between generations.
MAXIMUM ONE BOTTLE PER CUSTOMER
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
