WhistlePig 12 years is the second release from this legendary American distillery, as well as the first major experiment with ageing in European casks. After 12 years of ageing in American oak barrels, in fact, each component of the blend is aged for 2 to 4 weeks in 3 different types of barrels: Port (7%), French Sauternes (30%) and Madeira (63%).
The end result is a harmonious symphony of spicy flavours, for a unique rye whiskey that won a double gold medal at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirit Competition.
