Age: 40
Awarded the highest honor at the IWSC (International Wine and Spirit Competition) of 2017, The Balvenie 40 years old is a sacred monster of contemporary Whisky.
Elegant, intense and shining, this Scotch, coming from the historic Speyside distillery, is well aware of the responsibility given by that heavy label, butdoubtless it does meet the expectations.
Tasting notes
Nose: immediately spread intense and elegant floral notes, with apricots, citrus peel, ginger and vanilla; all embraced by a warm oak aroma.
Mouth: here also the floral notes enhanced by cinnamon and nutmeg are confirmed; then you get lost inside the whole aromatic profiles where the woody and sweet notes given by aging in ex-Sherry casks prevail.
Aftertaste: sweet and enveloping with a prevalence of honey.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
