Port Ellen 19 Y.O. 1970 Release 1989 Sestante Import

The company Sestante Import was founded in the 1970s by Ernesto Mainardi, who bottled his first casks under that name in 1985. Together with his contemporary, Silvano Samaroli, Mainardi was by far the first to offer his customers a choice of 40-46% bottlings and cask strength versions from the same casks.

Along with its other brand, Silver Seal, Mainardi's bottlings are incredibly sought-after, and have written key pages in Scotch Whisky history. This is a Port Ellen bottled by Gordon & MacPhail specifically for Mainardi, under the iconic label with the red band.
