Dalmore can boast of owning the oldest stills of the Highlands, one of which has been in use since 1874!
Due to the aging of its whisky, Dalmore mainly uses a wide range of sherry casks, mostly from Andalusia. Once the whisky has matured, different varieties of cask are assembled to create the different expansions of their whiskies, matured for another four months in order to help the malts marry and produce harmonious flavors.
The new visitor reception center, inaugurated in 2004, will perhaps bring this distillery and its nectar to the fame they both deserve. Its meticulously kept Victorian architecture gives it a delightfully old-fashioned look, with pink granite walls that soften the austerity of slate roofs.
