The long and exciting history of the Glenfiddich distillery coincides with that of Scotch whisky. The Grant family, now in its fifth generation, founded it as early as 1887 in Dufftown, a small town nestled in Speyside famous for its incredible concentration of distilleries, and from there led it to be a world leader in the Scottish single malt category.
Glenfiddich was responsible for the founding of the malt whisky category as it was the first, in 1963, to put the Single Malt label on a bottle destined for export outside the UK. A pioneering choice at a time when Blended Whisky was everything, but one that proved successful in creating a spirit that has become synonymous with quality worldwide.

The Glenfiddich Distillery spreads over 35 hectares, where everything speaks of whisky and where some traditional production techniques coexist with the style of a reality always projected into the future, innovative by nature.
Coopers' and coppersmiths' workshops are still active, ancient trades fundamental to the maintenance of casks and stills. There are 28 stills, a number that no distillery in Scotland can boast of, and some are still fired by direct fire, a traditional technique that has almost disappeared.
The complex is surrounded by many ageing cellars, where a patented Solera method for ageing certain whiskies has been patented, and has been open to visitors since 1969, when Glenfiddich first opened its doors to whisky enthusiasts - yet another record for the distillery of records.

Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
