In line with the 12 and 15 Y.O. versions, this 17 Y.O. Caroni stands out for its lighter and more subtle petroleum character than the usual Caroni. Ample and generous, this Heavy Rum revives our nose with its exoticism and sweetness. Bottled in 2015 after 17 years spent in bourbon barrels in tropical climate, it covers our taste buds with honeyed and floral notes. Reaching 55 degrees, this Caroni who donated a part of the angels above 70%, seems to have reached perfect maturity. Small Batch - Limited series.
Aromatic Profile: fruit (mini-banana, candied apricot), wood (mahogany, Madagascar vanilla and cocoa beans) and phenols (turpentine, camphor).
Tasting Notes
• Nose: condensed, exhilarating, seductive. The magic of the oak barrel has been accomplished. The first finely boisè nose reveals drops of Madagascar vanilla and cocoa beans. In a second time the fruits are born. First exotic (mini-banana, mango) then candied (apricot, plum). The phenolic character (turpentine, camphor) typical of the Caroni embellishes the whole.
• Mouth: wide and generous. The palate is caressed and seduced by the sweet notes honey and floral (geranium, hyacinth, mignonette). On the tongue, the cocoa present in the nose proudly accompanies a craft cane syrup that gives us comfort and sweetness. Finally, it is in total delicacy that the fruits follow one another: nectarines, lukewarm mangoes and baked apples. Tireless!
• Aftertaste: almost infinite. The fruits (apricot, mirabella) tenderly cover the taste buds. The finish plays with the greasiness of the exotic mahogany wood, not far from a golden teak sun terrace. The fineness of spices (cinnamon, fresh tobacco leaves) subdues the glass to the last drop.
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
