Karukera Single Cask 2014 is a Rhum Agricole aged 12 years in ex-Cognac casks #194, of which only 203 bottles were produced.
Bottled at natural strength and aged in Cognac casks, this version displays an absolutely astonishing expressive freshness. On the aromatic level, with its bewitching hints of cane sugar, it also reveals a particularly spicy and medicinal character. On the taste level, it initially invites you to savour it while waiting for its fruity and floral registers to take over.
Founded in 1895, the Espérance distillery is the oldest on the island still in operation. Located on the Domaine du Marquisat de Sainte-Marie, it produces Longueteau rum from the surrounding blue and red cane fields. For over a century, Longueteau was a white rum, sold mainly in bulk. In 2006, François Longueteau joined forces with Grégoire Hayot and Sylvain Guzzo to create the Karukera rum factory to offer an aged version of his agricultural rum.
In 2007, a year after its creation, Karukera began a collaboration with La Maison du Whisky. This collaboration has lasted almost 15 years and has led to two new Single Casks deservedly entering the French company's 65th Anniversary selection.
MAXIMUM ONE BOTTLE PER CUSTOMER
Distillates have different alcoholpercentages. So, we have defined a parameter allowing you to better understand and compare different prices. This parameter is calculated by dividing the bottle price by the alcohol content. The alcohol content (or strength) is the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) contained in the distillate.
This parameter indicates the price of a single 4cl dosage of distillate. It is calculated by dividing the price of the bottle by its quantity (expressed in cl), then multiplying by the centilitres of the recommended single dose, as average in cocktail recipes.
